Electrifying Research
A groundbreaking, first-of-its-kind hub for electrification-related behavioral research.
What makes people upgrade to electric?
We know why people should go electric. But understanding what makes different people purchase different electric appliances is a science — and we’re creating the biggest lab yet. Electrifying Research is a growing initiative powered by academics, industry experts, nonprofit leaders, and communication specialists who conduct and deploy electrification-related behavioral research. The more we learn about what prevents and motivates people to upgrade their stoves, cars, heating and cooling, and more, the better equipped we’ll be to electrify our communities and hit our climate goals.
How can I participate? We welcome researchers and those who are curious about electrification and consumer behavior to share their data and discoveries throughout the year and during quarterly (virtual) convenings.
Our next meeting on October 31st at 2 p.m. EST will feature guests from Behavioral Insights Team, American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), and Rewiring America.
