We have to install 14,000,000 more electrified machines than the current rate of adoption over the next three years to meet our climate goals. It’s extraordinarily ambitious and absolutely possible.
Our first-ever Pace of Progress report illustrates what we need to do. You should read it.

Implementing the DPA
The Defense Production Act (DPA), together with the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA), creates a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reduce energy bills for everyday Americans, bolster national energy security, spur domestic clean energy manufacturing capacity, create good-paying jobs and deliver meaningful progress in the fight against climate change.
Go Electric! Free guide to the Inflation Reduction Act
The Inflation Reduction Act is full of incentives to help you and your family go electric. But there’s a lot to explore and understand, from electric appliances you may not even know about yet to the best way to structure your electric journey for maximum savings.
Clean and Healthy Schools are Electric
Years of disruption — by heat waves, wildfires, mudslides and the COVID-19 pandemic — have demonstrated that California’s schools are not equipped to keep students safe and healthy. Aging HVAC systems cannot filter wildfire smoke or viruses, so schools close and students fall behind. Students in schools without HVAC systems altogether face even worse outcomes.
The Electric Explainer: Key programs in the Inflation Reduction Act and what they mean for Americans
A landmark climate investment to charge a path forward.
Clean energy investments are the antidote to inflation
Congressional energy investments will empower American families to electrify their homes and save money on their energy bills, all while combating inflation, foreign energy dependence and climate change.
Circuit Breaker: Electrification won’t break the grid, it will make it smarter.
To meet our climate goals, we’ll need to deliver two to three times as much electricity as today. Fortunately, we’ve scaled the grid faster than this before and can do it again. Smart grid technologies can allow more electricity to be delivered by the same infrastructure, reducing the amount of new grid build-out and increasing resilience. Smart electric panels can enable whole home electrification, including EVs and heat pumps, largely without upgrading upstream infrastructure like wires or transformers, cutting the cost and time required for electrification.
President Biden invokes the Defense Production Act to boost the clean technology we need for economy-wide electrification.
We applaud President Biden for his decisive action to advance American energy independence and climate leadership by invoking the Defense Production Act to boost the domestic manufacturing capacity for heat pumps, solar panels and building insulation.
Electrify for Peace Plan
The Electrify for Peace Policy Plan is a three-part market transformation plan that bolsters American manufacturing and labor capacity. It is a geopolitical and climate imperative that we embrace the politics of abundance and freedom that come with electrifying everything and powering our lives with renewable energy.
Electrification Caucus Co-Chairs and Members Call on FERC to Improve Grid Reliability and Lower Energy Costs
“We have technologies we can deploy today to reduce household energy bills, improve reliability, create jobs, and cut harmful carbon pollution. We urge you to take next steps as expeditiously as possible to upgrade and expand our electric grid to enable power sharing across regions and the connection of more affordable and abundant renewable energy to power our homes, businesses, and vehicles at lower costs.”
Circuit Breaker: Heat Pumps emit less than high efficiency gas appliances in nearly every household in America.
Heat pumps are the cleaner choice. Even under conservative DOE minimum efficiency standards and 100-year global warming potentials, 98% of U.S. households would cut their carbon emissions by installing a heat pump.
Electrification Caucus Co-Chairs Call On President Biden To Achieve True Energy Independence With Electrification And Clean Energy
Electrification Caucus Co-chairs: "We urge the Biden Administration to take action to ramp up American manufacturing and adoption of electric appliances like heat pumps and work with the Senate to steer transformative investments in clean energy across the finish line."

Handbook: Electrify Everything in Your Home
We’ve been telling you why to do it. Now we’ve put together the best advice on how to do it. "Electrify Everything in Your Home" is a guide to replacing all of your fossil-fueled appliances with modern electric ones. A guide to comfy, healthy, carbon-free living. The e-book is free.
Fact Sheet: What’s at Stake
Forty-two percent of U.S. energy-related emissions come from our homes and the machines we use every day: the cars we drive, how we heat and cool our homes, how we heat our water, dry our clothes, and cook our meals. We stand no chance of staying inside of 1.5°C warming unless we electrify our lives.
Three Coalitions Have Launched
The Congressional Electrification Caucus and Rewiring America’s Mayors for Electrification and CEOs for Electrification represent the first time that public, private, national and local leaders are coming together to make electrification central to our climate strategy.
