Tell Congress to keep the home energy tax credits helping millions of American households
What’s happening
Right now, two powerful tools to lower our energy bills, create local jobs, and build more comfortable, resilient homes — the 25C and 25D home energy tax credits — are on the chopping block. The House just proposed to eliminate these tax credits at the end of 2025 — seven years ahead of schedule. Now it’s up to the Senate to decide whether the credits stay or go.
Bottom line: Getting rid of 25C and 25D would hurt millions of American households. And we can’t let that happen.
What you can do: Call your Senators. Reach out to your Senators today and tell them to protect the 25C and 25D home energy tax credits.
STEP 1
Dial 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to your Senator’s office (here’s a list of their names).
STEP 2
Use this script for your message:
“Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I live in [Your City]. I'm calling to urge the Senator to protect the home energy tax credits — 25C and 25D — that help families like mine afford energy-saving upgrades. These credits make it possible for homeowners to install things like heat pumps, insulation, and solar panels.
Please speak with Senate Finance Committee leadership and ask them to preserve these credits beyond 2025. Cutting them would raise costs for families and make it harder for us to lower our utility bills.”
If you reach voicemail, leave a message with your name, city, and your request to keep 25C and 25D in place.
